Noticeboard Policy

1.   Introduction

The noticeboard outside the Village Hall, by the entrance ramp, is the official Parish Council noticeboard and is reserved for the display of statutory notices. 

The noticeboard by the Post Office is owned by the Parish Council and is for community use. This noticeboard is kept unlocked for ease of access. 

The Parish Council own several A frame boards, for the display of temporary notices. 

The Parish Council own several noticeboards inside the Village Hall. 


2. Parish Council Noticeboard

The Clerk has the authority to display official council notices and information on the Parish Council noticeboard.


3. Community Noticeboard

Organisations, operating anywhere in the village, and residents have priority. Notices concerning organisations or events outside the village may not be displayed. 

General business advertising is not permitted.

Notices must be removed as soon as the notice is out of date. 


4. A Frames

The Parish Council provides standard A frame boards for temporary notices. 

Notices should be displayed a maximum of 2 weeks before the event, so that the A frames have maximum impact.

Posters for classes or events can be displayed on the community noticeboard, and noticeboard inside the village hall, prior to this 2-week period, with A frames added 2 weeks before the event. 

The A frames are for notices of events taking place at the Village Hall only. 

Requests for any other use of the A frames should be sent to the Clerk.  

No other boards or structures should be placed on Parish Council land or property without the prior written permission of the Parish Council. Any such applications should be sent direct to the Clerk in writing. 

The Parish Council reserve the right to remove an A frame, without prior notification, under the following circumstances:

  • It breaches the terms of this policy
  • It is deemed to represent a Health and Safety risk
  • The Council needs to undertake work in the grounds
